Already I am stressed out and not feeling at all successful or willing to learn - things like this need to be easy and straightforward and I am not finding this sooooooo at least if our students feel like this I can support them lol oh well can only all get better and better as I learn and my knowledge grows :)

Good on you for being courageous enough to put your toe the water first Fiona. From a fellow (former?)'pen and paper notetaker'!Love your background picture.
ReplyDeleteKia ora Fiona,
ReplyDeleteI completely understand, when we leap into this digital learning space, the learning pit can feel very deep. But, you are here and have some great people who can support you. Please feel free to reach out to Meryn, Makaore or myself for some support outside of the DFI if you would like it. And yes, what it really does give us a great lesson in empathy for our students! Looking forward to connecting with you again tomorrow.
Vicki
Kia ora Fiona,
ReplyDeleteYes, week one of DFI can sometimes feel like being thrown in the deep end and initially just trying to keep your head above the water. But it will get better, and you will surprise yourself with the amount of learning you retain, and embed into your day to day workflow. As Vicki mentioned, we are more than willing to connect one on one with you to offer support, just let us know. I look forward to working with you again during week 2.
Ngā mihi nui

ReplyDeleteMay I add to the comments above that you are welcome to take a photo of the notes on your paper and post the photo on your blog! Our learners are encouraged to do this. No-one in the digital world should have to 'type stuff up' if it is hand written. Just take a photo.
Best wishes
Dorothy
